The National Radiation Laboratory (NRL) is a specialist unit of the Ministry of Health, based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Its main roles are to:

Regulate the use of ionising radiation sources

Provide an emergency response capability in the event of radiation incidents

Provide expert advice
- Provide high-quality measurement and advisory services for both ionising and non-ionising radiation within New Zealand and internationally
