Transport of radioactive material

Regulation 3 states that the transport of radioactive materials into or within NZ must comply with the Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material published by the International Atomic Energy Agency, a copy of which can be downloaded here

The Shipper’s declaration form for land transport, for use with the revised regulations is available here (PDF - 296 kB) for printing on a colour printer (double-sided).  Pads of this form can be procured from Licensing Administration.  The Shipper's declaration form for air transport is available here.

The NRL has issued an information pamphlet for drivers and handlers involved in the road transport of radioactive material.  This publication entitled "Road Transport of Radioactive Material : Requirements and Guidance Notes for Drivers and Handlers" has been endorsed by New Zealand Police and Land Transport New Zealand, and can be downloaded here (PDF - 1.12 MB).
