National Radiation Laboratory |

The NRL offers a service to authenticate levels of radioactivity in foodstuffs for the export market.
Certificates are issued for goods that are of 100% New Zealand origin without testing a sample for radioactivity content. These certificates are issued on the basis of experience as well as ongoing environmental radioactivity monitoring operations. For any goods containing imported components a sample must be tested for radioactivity content before a certificate can be issued.
For this service please read carefully the detailed information sheet: Information sheet for radioactivity certification (PDF - 126 kB) service for food exports.
In order to obtain a certificate, complete this form: Request for a radioactivity certificate. (PDF - 78 kB). This form is also available here as a Word document.
If the goods contain an imported component and a sample must be tested for radioactivity content, please complete this form: Request for testing for radioactivity content in foodstuffs. (PDF - 89 kB). This form is also available here as a Microsoft Word document.
